No, we are not a franchise. None of the Zankou Chickens are. Zankou Chicken is a family owned business where different branches of the family own and operate different locations.

Zankou Chicken Tarzana is owned and operated by the same person that owns the original Zankou Chicken opened in 1982 in Hollywood.

Although all the Zankou locations offer the same core menu, (mainly it’s world famous rotisserie chicken with it’s signature garlic paste, beef and chicken shawermas), because of the diverse ethnic and geographic communities they serve, the menu varies slightly.

Zankou Chicken Hollywood is the only location offering sarma. Zankou Chicken Tarzana is the only location offering beer & wine. Both the Hollywood and Tarzana locations are the only ones offering soujouk.

We prepare our food the same way it has been prepared for decades in the original Hollywood location. Unlike some other Zankou Chicken locations, the Hollywood and Tarzana location pride themselves in cooking everything ON SITE and are the ONLY ones serving PREMIUM FOSTER FARMS chicken.
